No thanks needed, just doing my bit for the club. ;D If all goes well, I'll be attending the concert in Taipei. Now I'm praying hard that nothing goes wrong. Unfortunately, I don't know when he will be coming to SG. Even if he comes, it would probably be after the release of the album and judging from his current schedule, I doubt he will be coming this year. What more I've heard that after the Taipei concert, his next concert stops will in China. Well, even if we don't get to see him in person, we will still support him rite? ;D

Leehom will be releasing his 2nd Japanese Single on October 1 2003. There will be three songs in this CD single, one of which is the song for his Japanese commercial, Chuel called "The miracles of Love" (rough translation) and the second is the Japanese version of "Hand In Hand". I can't decipher the Japanese words for the 3rd yet, but will let you all know when I do. 3 Cheers for Leehom! ;D Hope this doesn't compromise the release date of his Mandarin album though.

Wang Lee Hom will practise Chopin for [Xin Lian]
Wang Leehom is willing to practice hard the Chopin Piano Concerto for the new movie [Xin Lian]. "As soon as the director chooses the piece, I will definitely learn it by hard, just like in the movie [The Pianist]!" Flying from Japan to Los Angelos to meet with the director Yin Qi, Wang Leehom express his liking of [Xin Lian]'s storyline. The movie is scheduled to shoot in Paris and Shanghai around the end of September, with Li Xin Jie as the female lead. It is about the love story of a pianist who grew up in Paris and a Shanghai Girl. Leehom and Yin Qi merrily discussed about the storyline of [Xin Lian] and he talked a little on his views about the character, especially the "piano playing"portion. He immediately imitated the flamboyance of a pianist immersed in his music. He even assured the director that he will know the Chopin Concerto like the back of his hand by the time the movie starts filming. When I was acting as an assassin in the Hong Kong movie, I didn't even need a stunt double, I definitely don't need one to play the piano for me. Started the violin at six, the piano at eight, Leehom is definitely competent in Classical music. When he was studying in New York, he even received quite a few music awards. Later on when he went to Taiwan to pursue his singing career, due to his love of song composition, he was given more chances to handle the keyboard thus improving his piano technique immensely. Wang Leehom mentioned that a few years back when [Ye Ben] was looking for a male lead, he went to the office of Zhong Heng Gou Ji to discuss about the film but because his Mandarin then left much to be desired, Zhong Heng chose Huang Lei instead. Never did he thought that he would get this chance to work with Yin Qi and Xu Li Gong. "Hasn't my Mandarin improved a lot?" he asked Yin Qi. Having worked in Taiwan for seven years, Leehom's conversational Mandarin and hearing skills is comparable to the local artistes. Only his reading ability needs to be enhanced. When he filmed [China Strike Force], there was no script so he just did whatever the director told him to do on the set. As [Xin Lian] is his first non-action movie, he hope that Yin Qi could give him the script earlier so that he could start doing some homework. Yin Qi mentioned that there were many contenders for the male lead for [Xin Lian] but Leehom was the best one. Taking into consideration his popularity, image and musical quality, no one was more suitable for the role. He is even considering letting Leehom compose the title song for [Xin Lian] to be sung by Leehom and Li Xin Jie. This trip to LA, other then discussing about the new film with Yin Qi, Leehom is also meeting with the creative personnels of Sony Music USA to prepare for his first English album.

Being the producers for the song, Wang Lee Hom and David Tao wrote down their comments for this activity. David Tao said [This time the music simply started with some little ideas from 2, 3 persons. After that, in a week’s time, with the effort and support of many people, the concept took flight and like a snowball, began to get bigger until it became a CD, given to everyone. We know the snowball will continue to roll, with this more and more people will reach out with their hands and heart to help with the problems and unrest brought on by SARS. As more people hold hands, more goodwill will follow. This is also the meaning of this song. Let us hold hands and let music create more strength!] Wang Lee Hom replied [The doctors and nurses uses their profession to fight SARS. As we are musicians, we created a song that during the process, more strength is emanated through the people’s genuine effort. Taiwan’s musician showed the warmth of this unification. I am proud to be one of Taiwan’s musicians. This song has vast strength. When you softly hum the song, you can easily feel the warmth and love of acceptance. Hopefully after SARS exits, other then the painful scars, there will be warm memories, through this song, be implanted into our hearts. This is also the best present I’ve received!]

It took some time but I've managed to download the song (4mb) and the MV (22.1mb). The only thing is you have to be online to listen and watch because you have to get the license (by signing in as Azio member) from Azio everytime you play the thing. Hope everyone get to download and listen and watch Homeboy in action.

I heard parts of the song on the entertainment news, it sounded great! Hope we get to hear the full song and see the MTV as well. It was a huge project to undertake and they did it in such a short time. The singers only got the lyrics and music the night before the recording.
GREAT WORK DONE!!!

Hi Hom80,
Hope this helps, not very good but readable, I think. ;D
Wang Leehom establishes his main career in Japan
Having being in the music scene for eight years, as Wang Leehom released his first album in Japan, he felt blessed having experienced, for the first time, the enormous force gathered by Sony Music and Shochiku Movie Production Company when promoting an artiste.
In fact, Since 1995, Wang Leehom has on and off made some appearances in Japan. The first was the collaboration with the Violinist, Ye Jia Lai Tai Lang (Hanyu pinyin as I’m not sure what the Japanese pronunciation is) and then with Ken Hirai. But it wasn’t until his movies that made Japan take notice. In 2000, Leehom and Yuan Biao starred in <God of Fist> (not shown in Taiwan) which was very popular in Japan and due to Yuan Biao’s popularity in Japan, it helped in paving the way for Leehom’s future in Japan. Even though it is again due to the movie [Moon Child] that resulted in his high exposure in Japan, his first album release has allowed the charm factor of Leehom’s music to blossom.
Soon to start his album promotion in Japan and the recording of his Mandarin album while staying away from SARS, Leehom took the opportunity to record a few promotional VCR clips for the release of the Japanese album in Taiwan. When he chanced upon some reporters, he responded that he was happy with his last trip to Japan, [This time the timing was perfect and every aspect was taken care of. Being able to release an original music album there, letting the audience in Japan realize that I am actually a musician, is simply exhilarating!] Leehom revealed. Ken Hirai had once solemnly asked him if he was giving up music and concentrating on acting instead. In the past, the impression that the Japanese audience have of Leehom was that of an actor rather than a musician. Only a few diehard fans started supporting him after listening to his music. Therefore, with the release of his album in Japan, these fans were the happiest. When [Moon Child] premiered, these fans even occupied the first few rows of the cinema, wild and rowdy as if they were having a party of their own.
Leehom said [Thanks to Sony’s support, coupled with the strength of the movie production company, which allowed HYDE and Gackt, these two superstars, to appear in my album’s promotional poster and also for allowing the full version of [Last Night] to be played in [Moon Child] twice. These were surprises beyond my expectations].
Leehom honestly revealed that he had always been low-keyed. He lacks the ambition and expectation with regards to the entertainment scene. He only knows how to make good his music. He would rather let his music lead him, that is, to wherever accepts and love his music. Therefore, he did not consciously place his focus on the Japan market. But when he saw the sincerity and spirit of the long term planning Sony Music Japan has prepared for his performing career, he responded that he would do his best, taking a step at a time, be it the concerts, albums, or commercials that he would be involved in, in Japan, for the following three years.
