Hi everyone! Just wondering what everyone thought of Leehom's songs... as in Leehom has written so many songs and i'm sure there must be one or two songs whom we feel really special about.. so it would be nice if we can just share For me, i feel that ' Frozen Dreams' is a really special song, not just because it is co-written with the fans ( tts one reason too) , but the words and the feelings that come from the song are rather strong. i remember the first time i heard it and two lines really hit me, ' Far too long these chains i've worn cos i didn't choose to be born' i thought these words really mean a lot.. as in whoever can think like this must have really gone through a lot and feel so strongly against the injustice of this world till he/she if given a choice, will not want to be in this world at all. okay.. a bit crappy... but this song has remained very special to me.. tts why i dedicated this song tt night i called into 933... for i think its a really special song and ought to be shared with so many other ppl, esp the lyrics. Most of all, the lyrics came from ppl like us, the fans.. so i think Leehom has done a good job with this song.. Another one would be the Wei Yi Demo. Leehom sounds really soulful... It's just him and the piano so it can really bring out his vocals.. and it just sounds so soothing.. My magical experience with this song came on Deepavali morning this year.. for some reason i woke up at 5:40 am and had this strong urge to play this song.. so there i was on that Monday morning, lying on my bed and listening to Leehom and his piano while the sun slowly rose outside.. It was a marvellous experience. Everyone ought to try it! That very moment, i felt like time had stopped and i was at peace with the entire world. It was a very special moment.. Now, whenever i feel down, i will play this song knowing that i will feel so much better! So tts my sharing! Anybody else wanna share about any other song by Leehom that has touched their hearts? Don't be shy! let's all share! In that way we can learn about how Leehom's music has touched people in different ways, for every song has a different meaning to everyone. So i hope everyone will step forward and share their thoughts! 5 days to 2003... May everyone have a great year ahead!

Well. i personally that "Bu Yao Hai Pa" is a really terrific song. Although it is a love song but the phrase "bu yao hai pa" really encourages me whenever i am feeling low. Lee Hom's music never fail to touched others.

Hmm... this is a tough question to answer. Every single song of his has given me many different emotions together with it, and every song has its special meaning to me... but I'll try to single some out... right, let's see... "Noah" is a special song to me, the words are something that have special significance to my religion (and I'm sure to Lee Hom's as well, that's why he wrote this song) and I like it when he uses very simple music composition. In this case it's the piano, electric guitar, and drum set, which is added one by one respectively as the song progresses. It gives the song this melancholic, lonely tone which suits the song really well. "You Le Ni Jiu Zu Gou" or "As Long As I Have You"... I find this song exceptionally romantic, for some reason. It's just guitar, and his voice... *swoons* and he uses this really soft tone in the song, as if he's singing beside the girl's ear or somewhere in close proximity to her... ahh~ although there're quite a number of songs quite similar to these ("Last Night", "Shi Ni" also the simple-sounding, soothing kind), but I like this leh... "Frozen Dreams" is special 'cos of similar reasons bluestar gave. "Crying Palms" is another one. This song really pulled my heartstrings. Not that I experienced what was written before, but the way he sang it was just so... heart-wrenching. This song almost made me cry. So... yeah~ I suppose it's once again the magical combination of the instruments, especially the violin and his voice. Overall, I would say the "Impossible To Miss You" album has fantastic songs. Ok, the next one isn't really a song... it's the transition between the "Introduction" of "Forever's First Day" to "Forever's First Day". Haha~ sounded a bit weird there. Anyway, I just feel that the intro really sets us into the mood of the 2nd track. It's really cool and I love this line: "duo me pan wang you yi tian wo hui zai jian dao ni, na jiu hui shi yong yuan de di yi tian"... so poetic man! Hehe. And how could I forget "I Want"? I really love the front bit where he says that whole chunk about innocence and purity, hoping that we human beings maintain that innocence and purity we possessed when we were young... it's something so terribly hard to achieve now as the world advances in all aspects. Even I, can only hope for me to still be that little innocent as I was when I was a small kid... "wo yao de shi mei ge ren hui dao dan chun de tong nian xi shu tian shang de xing xing"

[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] saw the message bluestar post regarding Leehom's music ... thought i'll give some of my comments .... actually i fell that his music initially with the previous record company was actually pretty raw and fresh , but somehow i feel that the music was not really him as he wrote the songs more base on the needs of the commercialise music industry .... Nevertheless, i still enjoy some of his early young music like the mei yi miao dou xiang jian dao ni .....seems that it has become a MUST to every concert now as i watched the VCDs of his concert . I really like to thank him for coming out EVOLUTION the album as nature was great ! I really look forward to listening more of such songs .... TEXT to the English album ... and yes Frozen dreams is one of my favourite but alas he semms to most of the time fail to perform that song during his public performance hope i'll be able to see him sing that song again live would be very nice !
Hey , anyone like jue bu liao ni i really like the start where LH used the that instrument but i forgot the name of it li ling u know wat's it ?
anw think i'll stop here ...
Hope it wasn't too draggy . [glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]Haha ...

Kel, it's vibraphone, or vibes, for short... ;D erm... in chinese it's called tie3 qin2. it's actually something like a xylophone, but the keys are made of metal instead of wood to give this vibrating effect, hence the name vibraphone. under the keys there're actually rollers, which roll (duh~) when the instrument is plugged into electricity which allow the sound to last longer. it can also be played without electricity but it'll be softer. the player has to release the keys by stepping on this piece at the bottom if not the sound is muted. pai seh~ very losoh...

ok, thought i could just give my opinions and stuff, hope it won't end up too long and irritating. the song that i really really like is the cantonese song, love my song. ok, i do not understand a single word of cantonese and even when i was staring at the lyrics, i was like, hmm ok, so cantonese and chinese are really different! so i started trying to sing the song in cantonese... haha, took me some time to learn it... it's like if the song is going to be in chinese with the same lyrics, it's different somehow. lee hom sounds very emotional in the song, as usual i suppose. through the song, it's like you will be able to feel for him and stuff, i so make sense here... the lyrics for this song is really sad, like the beginning, me and my violin, which is more attractive? who should i look like for you to be enchanted with me? i practise hard playing violin while you go and accept his kiss, sth like that lah... i know my translation kinda suck but it's along that line. another i love love love is bu ke neng cuo guo ni. i guess pple who went for the concert should get what i mean. ok, when he was singing this, i was like in front there, squeezing with everyone else and everyone just started jumping! it's just a song when you hear it, you'll feel very comfortable and you just feel like.. jumping! and this song always reminds me of the mtv, with the puppets and all that, very cute! kawaii!! ;D this is love, zhe jiu shi ai, is another beautiful song. it's shows a naughty side of lee hom. i think this song suits him a lot. it's just like made for him or sth... lee hom is known for singing qing ges(wang le shi jian wang le wo, xin ren and others) and i guess what makes him different is that he really puts his heart and gets really emotional when he sings those songs and personally, even when he was singing songs that i have never heard before, ah my heart melted... haha. exaggerating a bit here, but really, there was not a moment when i felt bored during his concert. not one. i think that's about it. i shall add in the lyrics of love my song, because i really like it. hope everyone else will like it too! (2) Nature-I tot the music arrangement was great (3) Season (4) Last Night (5) ) Frozen dreams- A lot of effort was being put in puting together all e lyrics. Laudable effort! (6)) China White- Classical+rock = Perfect combi

hehe, some trivia for you ppl: anybody realised in the song "Love Is A Stage" (Gan Qing Shi Wu Tai) there's this bit at the end there's this whole indie-sounding bit with the bongos and stuff where he mumbles some inaudible stuff and then goes, "if all the world's a stage, ... you know we are merely players..." that line is from As You Like It by William Shakespeare... cool eh? Chris, "Nature" always reminds me of Stevie's "Overjoyed" in the Natural Wonder CD. All the natural sounds and stuff? Cool~ Actually methinks "Better Off Alone" is very Stevie... hmm.

hmm... i posted my previous msg when i was falling asleep...so nv say much.... cant think properly either... now i'm gonna say it all.. i like: Nature-both eng n chi version. the eng version is juz so nice n comfortable. the chi version, on the other hand is more romantic n gives u dat dreamy feeling...love it... actualli i like many of his eng songs... like "Better off alone"..the tune is interesting n cute... n the lyrics r simply hilarious~! and bridges burn much easier if u're using kerosene....muahahaha *evil laughter* tell me i'm ur onli one when ur boyfren is away.....oh no... "As long as i have u" is another fav song of mine...i used to play it again n again when i'm alone in the house.... "Front page rock n roll" is realli cute~ n the one call "si yue hai hui xia xue" erm or rather "it still snows in april".... "white paper" is also veri nice. i like the melody n lyrics for this song. oh remember he did a cover of "stand by me"? it wasn't realli as nice as the original(oops..) but it's rather cute.. i like the way he included many diff instruments n parts... the other songs that i realli realli like are not included in his albums... wonder if u all heard them b4.... they are "Just my gigalo", "man in mirror", and "walking in memphirs".... they are acapella songs.. i love acapella~ think it's the most beautiful song on earth~! i remember LH saying something abt the most interesting instrument is our own voice... how true it is~! u guys muz realli listen "juz my gigalo". it's realli realli good. and i also like "revolution" n "loving u is loving me" cuz of their beat... veri catchy n cool... i like r&b... Frozen dreams is a realli special song~ i remember when i 1st heard it i was thinking why do the lyrics sound so weird....as in they dun sound like they were written together... and the lines "far too long these chains i've worn..." also caught my attention... cuz i think it's a true reflection of many in this world... oops....i think i might have bored wif my ranting... haha... thanks for reading...if u made it this far that is...haha...

for me..., my fav song is Please Come Back to me his sets the key for this song very low.., such that when you hear the song u can feel the floor vibrating especially the ladt part of the song... where he sang "please come back to me..., i say it again..please come back to me ..yeah..shui bi wo ai ni ai ni noo..shui bi wo ai ni..........." he sounded so convincing!!like he really love the"ni" so much ...the part with the strings were cool~~ i like the slow pace of the song.., it suits the lyrics n feel of the song.
another song i like is Shi qu le ni its a special song as in the chorus is sung only at the last part of the song. the last line" shi qu le ni ..cong jing yi hou ni zai ye bu shu yu wo" shows that he already xiang tong le.moreover, the lyrics is different from the beginning till the end.., there is no one part that repeats, except the line "shi qu le ni". the song slowly brings u to the climax of the song~
i think descendants of the dragon has a wonderful bian qu. leehom tried to sing in high pitch "ni cha liang yan"...very high indeed.. i think requires quite some skill to do that!
i like leehom's improvisation skills too. what i mean is when he sings during a concert, he don't jus t sing exactly like the cd...which would be very boring. he is able to "change" the tune of part of a song or the way to sing it...this made his live performance worth watching and anticipating!!
well....all songs by lee hom are nice!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
btw, his voice in liang gfe ren bu deng yu wo men is soothing yet romantic...very suitable to listen to at night! don't treat it as a lullaby kk...
