Oops! i realise i typed my name wrongly in da previous one, haha! it should be bluEsTaR, not bLuRstaR .. yup Christine, i think Yester-me, yester-you, yesterday is REALLY beautiful... =) One of my fave tracks! Actually i think John Lennon's 'Imagine' is something similar and as beautiful! And our beloved Leehom has done quite a good job of it at concerts too! TEXTImagine Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say i'm a dreamer But i'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if we can No need for greed of hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say i'm a dreamer But Í'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

No wonder. ;D When I was typing ur name, I was like thinking y would some1 call him/herself blurstar. Yeah I was thinking of Imagine when I was reading thru the lyrics of Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday. I guess there is tiz element of idealism found in both songs. Btw, if I din remember wrongly Lh likes tat song. I notice tiz similiarity btw The World Of Wild Imagination and Boogie on Reggae Woman. Both Lh n Stevie said Can I play twice when they r abt to reach the climax of the song. Hmmm...

My gosh, Chris! You're bloody observant! it's scary... I have yet to notice such stuff in both their music, but I suppose as Lee Hom is able to do more and more of his OWN music, he'd add in a lot more musical elements of the musicians he looks up too...

well...for those who like John Lennon's 'Imagine'...actually there is another version where they use dis song as the 911 World Trade Center Tribute...dialogs of news reporting were included in between the song...itz rather sad wen you are listening to John Lennon singing abt peace while the dialogs are abt death...but it really does let ni noe the importance of peace...worth listening to dis song...btw don listen to it too mmy times okie...coz it really turns ur mood down...oh ya...you can download it frm the net if you really wanna try listening to it...

bluE^sTaR here agaiN! Though chris, i am also quite blur so bluR^sTaR is also rather apt! ;D I really enjoy songs that spread idealism, like Imagine and Yester-me, Yester-you and Yester-day. In today's music industry that has become so commercialised, 9 out of 10 songs talk about L-O-V-E, which apart from boring can start to sound senseless.. So all these idealistic songs do become very special... i really hope that Leehom's debut Eng album will see him writing one or two songs like these... esp with all the terrorism and Iraq conflict in the world today and the 911 incident, i really hope that Leehom is inspired to do a song like these... so here's hoping! Apart from that, i also really hope to see Leehom do an instrumental album.. something in a New Age style.. We've heard so much of his voice so i really hope that he will produce an album of pure, soothing music for us to play on those sad and gloomy days. Most of all, i hope he does a violin track! Songs like W-H-Y only feature a few lines but i'm sure we all agree that Leehom does a really wonderful job on his violin! There's nothing more beautiful than seeing a big guy like him bring out the expressive and beautiful timbre of the violin... So i really really hope that he will do a pure instrumental cd someday... Anybody else share that sentiment? To end off, i shall share a poem, entitled ' Peace' Peace… The very act of breathing…
Of knowing that flowers blossomed…
And the sky above is blue…
Peace…
That innermost feeling…
Where everything seems right…
And nothing can spoil this moment…
It is a moment, so precious, so rare, So little of us have felt it…
So many of us don’t know it…
Why war? Why blood? Why murder? Why the urge for another’s possessions? To see what you have rather than what you don’t To learn to love than to hate…
Peace…
The very act of breathing…
This very moment I feel peace Yet the question is ‘ How long?’ ‘
To World Peace!

I do agree that "idealistic" songs r a fresh change from love songs, I beg to differ that the latter sound senseless.. I guess it depends on how you look at it and what lyrics the songs have. I would say that even though "Imagine" could be used for a 911 tribute, love songs like "I Believe In Love" by the Dixie Chicks or even Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" were also used for the 911 tribute. The reason why love songs are all over the place is because LOVE IS UNIVERSAL. It's a feeling everybody is able to identify with and everybody needs, because even as I hate to say this, love does make the world go round. I suppose the act of hoping for world peace will still require for everyone to love one another! I don't know about others, but up to this pt of time, anymore songs "inspired" by the 911 incident or terrorism is beginning to sound cliched to me... Well, besides that, I do agree with the fact that Lee Hom should consider to do an instrumental album, although it's not on his agenda as yet. I would hope that he collaborate with Gackt on an instrumental piece, as Gackt also has a classical music background.. I'm sure it'll be real cool~

*haa* Bluey, can I call u tat coz too lazy 2 type ur whole nick? Hmm... u muz've split personality huh? ;D Hmm... Tat is a nice poem n I've 1 more entry in my diary now. Yeah, most songs in the industry r revolving around tiz theme. Of course, there r some artistes who exploited tiz 2 their advantages. Yeah, I like idealistic songs too n juz hope tat LH'll include tiz element in his Eng alb. Indeed, 911 has changed the world but not the mind of President Bush. Sorry but I'm anti-Republican. I guess thru such music, ppl find comfort n hopefully enlightenment. I'm always looking forward to the release of LH's instrumental alb n I'm sure the fans'll be in for some surprise. If he collaborates with Gackt, hmm.... rock n roll+classical. Well I can't wait for the release of his Eng alb. Bluestar, wat u've said had sud reminded me of tiz poem by William Blake(Lurve his poems man). Btw, if I give u all the impression tat I'm a cynic, well I'm not. Always look on the bright side of life......(not trying to help Nike k. ;D)
Holy Thursday--William Blake
Is this a holy thing to see, In a rich and fruitful land: Babes reduced to misery, Fed with cold and usurous hand?
Is that trembling cry a song? Can it be a song of joy? Ans so many children poor? It is a land of poverty!
And their sun does never shine, And their fields are bleak and bare, And their ways are filled with thorns; it is eternal winter there.
For where'er the sun does shine, And where'er the rain does fall Babe can never hunger there, Nor poverty the mind appal.

Wow, Chris! tt poem's nice! Actually tt ' Peace' poem is written by me.. so... hee.. thanks for da compliment... ;D Sure u can call me Bluey! Gooey Bluey! ;D Okay.. lame... hmm.. split personality.. wat makes u think so? But i kinda agree la.. actually to answer fayth as well, It's not tt i'm totally against love songs or something. I agree, love does make the world go round, not just BG love but also family love, love b/w friends, love for animals, love for the earth... Hate destroys while Love creates.. so í'm not like against this great idea of love being expressed in songs. I just feel that love has become a theme too commercialised and too over-expressed in today's songs... and if u listen carefully, some don't really make sense to me.. So fayth and chris, i assure you i believe in love! And i do enjoy listening to certain love songs as well! Wei Yi is a really nice track to me... more so knowing it came out of LH's feelings that lovely morning of Aug 17 in Greece... It feels like something truly from the heart and it makes a difference... And Chris! i stand on the same side of u when it comes to G. Bush! haha! Don't worry, you don't sound cynical. ;D To end off, here's sharing a love song ( yes, love song! ) , an oldie actually... I quite like the lyrics myself! Actually I'm quite into oldies! The simple words and melody makes it sound beautiful and you just can't help but feel that tomorrow will be a better day... And like idealistic songs, they make a very refreshing change! 'Let it be me' I bless the day I found you I want to stay around you And so I beg you, Let it be me Don’t take this heaven from me If you must cling to someone, Now and forever, Let it be me. Each time we meet, love, I find complete love Without your sweet love What would life be? So never leave me lonely…
Tell me you love me only, And that you are always, Let it be me If for each bit of gladness, Someone must taste of sadness I’ll bear the sorrow, Let it be me No matter what the price is, I’ll make the sacrifices Through each tomorrow, Let it be me To you I’m praying, Hear what I’m saying Please let your heart beat for me, just me And never leave me lonely, Tell me you’ll love me only And that you’ll always Let it be me

Oh yeah, how "Wei Yi" came about definitely made it sound a lot more special.. and the day it came abt makes it even more special to me.. go figure. I get what u mean by it being a theme too commercialised, but love does make ppl silly and senseless.. haha~ ;D oh well. comments abt G.Bush I shall not make 'cos I'm totally not a political person.. esp. when we're talking abt world affairs.. anyway, I am a huge fan of sappy love songs (the meaningful ones, to be exact, not Britney or whatever) and I can't resist them.. so, after frequent mention abt "Overjoyed", I shall post the lyrics here.. it was love at first listen for me towards this song.. Stevie Wonder - OverjoyedOver time, I've been building my castle of love Just for two, though you never knew you were my reason I've gone much too far for you now to say That I've got to throw my castle away Over dreams, I have picked out a perfect come true Though you never knew it was of you I've been dreaming The sandman has come from too far away For you to say come back some other day And though you don't believe that they do They do come true For did my dreams Come true when I looked at you And maybe too, if you would believe You too might be Overjoyed, over loved, over me Over hearts, I have painfully turned every stone Just to find, I had found what I've searched to discover I've come much too far for me now to find The love that I've sought can never be mine And though you don't believe that they do They do come true For did my dreams Come true when I looked at you And maybe too, if you would believe You too might be Overjoyed, over loved, over me And though the odds say improbable What do they know For in romance All true love needs is a chance And maybe with a chance you will find You too like I Overjoyed, over loved, over you, over you

Hey nice! I never realise the lyrics till now.. cos i only owe the Definitive Collection album that does not come with lyrics!! so angry!! It sounds much nicer now! ;D Thanks fayth! btw, is that day ur b-day?? Sappy love songs... i dun really know ya idea of sappy but this is a nice song if you've yet to hear it.. ( esp the narration part! Cute! ) Another oldie! ' Are you lonesome tonight?' Are you lonesome tonight? Do you miss me tonight? Are you sorry we drifted apart? Does your memory stray to a bright summer day? When I kissed you and called you sweetheart Do the chairs in your parlour seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, should I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight? (Spoken ) I wonder if you are lonesome tonight You know, someone said, ‘ The world’s a stage and each must play a part’
Fate had me playing in love with you as my sweetheart Act one’s when we met, and I loved you first glance You read your lines so cleverly and never missed a cue Then came Act two, you seemed to change You acted strangely, why I never knew honey You lied when you said you loved me, and I had no cause to doubt you But I’d rather go on hearing your lies then to go on living without you Now the stage is bare, and I’m standing there with emptiness all around me And if you don’t come back to me, then they can bring the curtain down’
