Yes, Da Kai Ai.. one of my fave Lee Hom songs.. was initially quite surprised as well, tt they actually collaborated before, and no one really noticed. I remember last yr, during one of the wks of 933's Top of the Pops, they actually had this interview with both Lee Hom and Jay.. some event in Taiwan, I think. And remember last year in Taiwan there was this huge debate over who was a better singer/composer, tt kinda thing, and erm.. Jay said that Lee Hom is like a poet.. and the songs he write has this shi qing hua yi effect.. of cos, Lee Hom was praising Jay as well. It was pretty amusing. Then again, why compare the both of them when the music that they do is different? hmm. The people who start all this comparing really have nothing better to do.. Anyway, Da Kai Ai is ok wat.. not very Jay style meh? I thought it's quite like An Jing, very focused on piano and vocals only.. or probably Hei Se You Mo..

Hee....I also knew about this quite some time ago (maybe about a year ago)....if I remember it clearly cos I was 'quite crazy' over Jay ;D so I went to his website and saw a list of the songs written by him...I was very surprised about this too...so that's how I discover lah...."Open Your Love" is one of my personal favourite....enjoyed listening it in a quiet environment when I'm alone...

yeah! i knew that too! But i also feel that that song is not very Jay, anyway, Jay was writing songs long before he came out as a singer... Personally, i like "da kai ai" a lot! very smoothing and nice.. especially when u listen at night.. hmm.. i believe chances of the two of them writing a song is quite high? hee.. lookin forward..

Yeah, since Jay is going to join Sony, most prob they'll collaborate. That' kewl! Btw, I'm not sure if I remember correctly but Jay describe LH as Tchaikovsky while he himself as Bach, sth like tiz. I totally agree with Jay. However, to me I think LH is more to Ravel. Wat do u all guys think? Anyway, tchaikovsky is my fav composer. Btw, does any1 knows who is his fav composer?

That Tchaikovsky and Bach bit does sound a tad familiar.. hmm. Hah~ I don't know my classical composers well. I'm not a 'classical' kinda person, as you all can see.. Aiyah. true colours shown to u ppl liao~ haha ;D I have no idea who his favourite composer is, this qn never occurred to me, actually. Beethoven? 'Cos he was partially deaf and still managed to make such great music? Besides, he did sing "Love Rival Beethoven".. haha! I seriously don't have a single clue..

Hey fayth, u r o cute! ;D Hmm... MAybe Beethoven huh? I read in some articles b4 but it was in Chinese n u know those Eng names that r translated into Chinese names thingy. It sounded so strange that I've no idea who the composer is. I still insist on my stand that he sounds more like Ravel. More to the romantic type. Ravel's most famous work is Bolero, so I think u should know. When it comes to Stevie Wonder n thoe mainstream music, u know more than I do. If u did not keep on praising abt Stevie Wonder, I would never know that he is such a fant singer/songwriter! ;D

According to Jay, He think that Lee Hom is like Chopin, whose music is very poetic. And he thinks that he is like Liszt.

Really? Yeah I tot LH sounded a little like Chopin but there'll always b tiz melancholy element present in LH's music. Dun u all think so? Chopin's music does not really has much of that element, the scope is more wide. Still, he is quite like Chopin lah. I tot Jay is more to hmm.... Grieg. A bit strange but still widely accepted by the mass.

I finally got my copy of Lee Hom's official piano and vocal score, and I was reading the stuff he wrote yesterday. If anyone actually remembers, he said that when he's feeling down, listening to a Wieniawski violin concerto would bring his spirits up. Hmm. I don't think Wieniawski was what you would call a "mainstream" composer in the classical music scene... but I got it from a website that he's one of the best violinists in the world...

Yeah, Wieniawski is not as popular as compared to Yehudi Menuhin. Anyway, classical music has never been in the mainstream @ all. Hee! Yeah, I chekced out some sites n they mentioned him as the best violinist n ermm... I dunno realli know much abt the guy though. Haa! They mention that Wieniawski is influenced by Chopin. Hmmm....
