Lee Hom's busy dealing with Lust
The Taiwan-based star, who will be performing here, is also acting in a Lee Ang movie
It is not every day that you get a chance to act in a Lee Ang movie, and Taiwan-based singer Wang Leehom knows that.
It is no wonder then that the 30-year-old has cancelled all work commitments slated after his concert here to concentrate on the movie titled Lust, Caution.
Wang performs the Singapore leg of his Heroes Of The World tour on Oct 21.
In the movie. he plays a student involved in a love triangle with Tony Leung chiu Wai and Chinese actress Tang Wei. The film, which also stars Joan Chen, is a spy romance thriller set in Japanese-occupanied Shanghai in the 1930s.
Incidentally, when Life! spoke to him yesterday, the 11-year showbiz veteran was filming the movie in Hong Kong in between gigs.
The shoot must have been a punishing affair, as the singer sounded weary and cautious.
Still, he perked up sufficiently to say that he was very honoured to work with the Brokeback Mountain director and has learnt a lot from him.
Wang has acted in four movie so far.
He did not offer to do the movie soundtrack even though he is more than qualified to do so, with 12 chart-topping albums under his belt.
"All I want to do is to concentrate on playing the character, nothing else," he insisted.
When asked if his rumoured girlfriend, actress Shu Qi, will be in Singapore to watch his concert, his voice became defensive: "I've no idea if she will be here; I did not invite her to come."
