Leehom sang at the Winter Olympics 2006! As the star staff of McDonalds,
Leehom performed at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Torino
Italy together with Ricky Martin and Avril Lavigne. Leehom with his talents
and one of the best sellers in Asia, he performed his chinked out music in the Olympic ceremony. Leehom left for Torino on the 9th of February and the ceremony was spread over the 9th and 10th. Famous performers such as Ricky
Martin and Avril Lavigne were also invited. Leehom was invited for the opening of the ceremony and he is the only Asian artist!
Leehom performed "Gai Shi Ying Xiong" at the ceremony, and with his chinked
out music, he surprised the guests at the ceremony and they applauded hard.
Stefania Belmondo, the Italian Olympic golden medallist and the 2002 Winter
Olympic bobsled American golden medallist Vonetta Flowers were amazed by
Leehom's performance and requested a photo with Leehom offstage. Leehom has
conquered the hearts of golden medallists! Leehom says he's honoured to perform and it was an eye opener for him!
Leehom rushed back to Taiwan to attend the concert ticket autograph session
at Xi Men Ding on the 11th and was unable to stay to watch the games at the
Olympics. Leehom managed to find half a day to visit this famous Northern Italy city. Leehom loves to see historic monuments and he visited Quadrilatero Romano in Torino and visited Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista in Torino where the Shroud of Turin (burial garment of Jesus) is stored. Leehom feels peaceful when he is surrounded by the gothic style architectures. Leehom also tasted the famous Tiramisu when he was there and said, it melted in his mouth and he just couldn't stop! He said the 16 hour journey was totally worth it.
Leehom's music mixer Mick Guzauski was awarded the best music mixer for this
year's Grammy awards with his work for Eric Clapton's new album. Leehom has
worked with Mick in his last album Shangri-La and in Leehom's current album,
Mick has done some great work. Mick has been awarded the Grammy for 6 times
as best mixer and he has now been awarded his 7th award. Leehom was atching the award ceremony online in Torino and when he found out Mick won the award, he was so happy that he jumped from his seat and immediately called Mick to congratulate him! Leehom said, the first mandarin music Mick has mixed was the Shangri-La album. He enjoys working with Mick and will continue to work with Mick. They will be working together in the next album and Leehom says he will continue to make good music with Mick.
