BRAND'S® Music Changes Lives Showcase
Saturday 24th April 2010
University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore
Six months ago, the BRAND’S® Music Changes Lives campaign was launched in search of young, aspiring and deserving musicians in Singapore.
Public voting, two rounds of judging by a panel of distinguished judges including renowned local music producer Ken Lim and after months of intense preparation, the final 4 musicians gave their debut performance on the grand stage at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore on 24th April 2010.
The 4 selected budding musicians – Cassandra Allicia Sim, Wilson Wyatt Hoe, Tan Share Ler and Lai Yi Xuan gave amazing solo performances as well as performed alongside local artistes like Rui En, Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza in front of over 1,200 spectators. BRAND’S® ambassador, Wang Lee Hom was also on-site to give words of encouragement and advice to our budding young musicians.
BRAND’S® recognizes that there are many young budding talents in Singapore who could have a bright future in the music field. However, due to the high cost of instruments and lessons, many of them have no choice but to give up their dreams. BRAND’S® Music Changes Lives was launched in partnership with BRAND’S® ambassador Wang Lee Hom and Ken Lim to give young musicians in Singapore a head start and a chance to pursue their dreams.
The competition with entries and voting garnered via online portal STOMP, drew much attention and interest from the public. Contestants submitted videos showcasing their musical prowess and attracted a total of 146,713 votes over the span of just three months.
Through this showcase, we encouraged and inspired young musicians to pursue their dreams. The campaign has also helped BRAND’S® as a brand to connect with younger consumers. Moreover, music requires focus and concentration, benefits related to consuming BRAND’S® on a regular basis.
