Debuting as the sunny ABC boy to the two-time GMA king and chinked-out king, WANG LI HONG (Leehom Wang) is chosen as one of the top 80 most inspiring Asian Americans at the internationally well-known Asian American website, Gold Sea. Wang Mama became extremely happy with her son.
The popular American website, Gold Sea, is currently the most viewed website for Asian Americans. The goal of the website is to introduce news about anything that involves with Asian Americans. Lately, Gold Sea has chosen 80 Asian Americans from both the past and present that has influenced and inspired many Asian Americans of the world. The list includes LEE SIU LUNG (Bruce Lee), LI AN (Ang Lee), and Leehom was also part of the list.
"The 80 Most Inspiring Asian Americans Of All Time" was the title of the list. According to its report on Leehom, they say that Leehom's the black sheep of the family, saying that many Asian American families hope their sons and daughters to be doctors, accountants or entrepreneurs, but Leehom, who has lived within a family of doctors, (Father and older brother are doctors) once has considered in being a doctor, but decides to head onto a different road because of his love for music. For his talent and love for music Leehom has become one of Asia's most popular stars and has become one of the most inspiring Asian singer-songwriters.
The report also said that Leehom is a known talent. At the age of 22, he became Taiwan's Golden Melody Award's Best Male Vocalist and Best Producer of the Year, the youngest winner in record. Leehom has then been nominated thereafter, winning again for The Best Producer of the Year in 2004 and The Best Male Vocalist in 2006. Leehom also created a new vibe of Chinese music called "Chinked-out", and has successfully promoted traditional Chinese music.
Because of Leehom, Taiwan's most important music awards, Golden Melody Awards, was globalized. Finally the report has stated that Leehom's role in Lust, Caution, the international film that is directed by Ang Lee, has attracted many attention from the media.
Last year Leehom has been concentrating on Lust, Caution and did not release any new songs. However, Leehom will release his latest album next month. Recently Leehom went to the beach to film an advert for McDonald's. After Lust, Caution, Leehom lost many pounds, but his image became sunnier and younger. Leehom revealed that he will not continued "chinked-out" in his next album. He said that the music in his next album will be more calm and clean.
