LEEHOM HAD A CRUSH ON KIT CHAN - WILL CONTINUE HIS "HEROES OF EARTH" WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN AMERICA
WANG LI-HONG (Leehom Wang) finally admitted that he had a crush on Singaporean star CHAN KIT-YEE (Kit Chan) on Saturday night when he held his "Heroes of Earth" World Tour Concert in Singapore in front of almost 10,000 people!
NEW OLD-FASHION HAIRSTYLE - AN ADORABLE HERO
Starting from March of 2006 in Taipei, Leehom's "Heroes of Earth" World Tour Concerts officially began. Recently Leehom is filming for Oscar-winning director LI AN'S (Ang Lee) latest movie, "SE, JIE (Lust, Caution)" and it has interfered with his touring schedule. However, Leehom managed to request a two-day vacation from Ang Lee and he flew to Singapore to continue his world tour concert in Singapore's Indoor Stadium.
To complement with the old 1930s background of the movie, along with adding an aura of an intelligent and handsome patriotic scholar, Leehom had to grow out his hair and had to wear old-fashioned clothing as well as reciting old Chinese poems and writing with a mao bi with his right hand. Seeing Leehom in such fashion and training, he releases an aura of an adorable boy as well as a nerdy young hero. However once Leehom stepped on stage, the previous image of silliness has been wiped away and he was once again displaying an image of a hero of the earth. He controlled over 8000 fans in Singapore. Besides Singaporean fans, there were also fans from Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand etc who attended the concert.
Leehom said, "Actually this concert has been a great challenge for me. Lately I have been filming a movie and my character was a scholar who lived around 60 years ago. I've neglected singing." However Leehom has passed this challange successfully. His live singing was as strong and as precise like before. He is truly the "Golden Melody King."
To catch up with the filming schedule, Leehom replied that his concert at Singapore will be his last concert of 2006. He frankly said that he will miss the times he has had with his fans. However, to lighten up the mood, Leehom confirmed that he is currently preparing for his concert tours in the US and Canada next year that will be held around the end of February. He said that he is very looking forward to see his fans in America. Sony BMG president also said, "Because of filming, we already cancelled many comericial promotions, concerts, holiday performances... we lost millions of dollars, but for working with Oscar-winning director Ang Lee, we think it's worth it."
SINGS "LOVING YOU" IN A CAPELLA TO KIT CHAN
During the concert, Leehom commented that people in Singapore can really sing. He named several singers, like SUN YAN-ZI (Stefanie Sun), LIN JUN-JIE (JJ Lin), and Kit Chan. When he sang "BU YAO HAI PA (Don't Be Afraid)", he requested his fans to sing the melody while he sang the accompaniment. The audience's reaction was high and deafening.
When talking about Kit Chan, Leehom exposed to the audience that he once had a crush on her. He was thankful that many of his friends had attended to the concert, such as his violin teacher and Kit Chan. Leehom said, "I'm really happy that she came to my concert. To be honest, I'm still a little nervous about performing in front of her." He than sang Kit Chan's "XI HUAN NI (Loving You)" in a capella and then quickly added, "When I first got in the ET industry, I once had a crush on her." This surprised the audience and the crowd exploded with cheers.
After the concert, Leehom exposed that Kit Chan already knew that he had a secret crush on her. He added, "I wouldn't call this a secret crush, but an obvious one, because she already knew that I once liked her. It was embarassing when she found out, haha." Leehom also invited her to attend his concert. However Leehom did not know where she sat. She wasn't in the VIP row and was extremely low-key. Despite this, Kit Chan still gave Leehom flowers for support.
For his concert Leehom invited his "shi di" KE YOU-LUN (Alan Ke). When they sang "LONG DE CHUAN REN (Descendents of the Dragon)" together, Alan rapped and Leehom highly praised that Alan has potential. The two of them often hang out together to talk about music and Alan enjoys calling Leehom "Hong Ge (Old Bro Hom)". The both of them also love to imitate fellow crew members together to fool around.
