I think its been real quiet in this discussion board, its seem that not a lot of people are posting comments. Come on everybody, its won¡¦t waste u much time to post a simple message. Hey, I think the administrator of the site should take the lead by participating actively in the discussion. It would be interesting for all of us to share when and why do we like leehom. I saw this discussion in many leehom¡¦s discussion board and the many fans ¡¥stories¡¦ of how they come to know of and like leehom is really interesting. Let me start the ball rolling. Actually, I started admiring leehom not too long ago, around 10 months. The first time I really notice leehom is when I caught a glimpse of some tv interviews he did when he was promoting his ¡¥forever first day album¡¦ in Singapore. My impression then was that he is just another pretty boy idol. (I blame myself for stereotyping him now). Hence, I didn¡¦t take an interest in him then. Many months later when I was surfing the net, I suddenly got this urge to search for leehom (I admit that my intention then is to have a good look at his look ). After visiting some of his websites, what strikes me is not all his good looking photo, but his impressive credentials. I¡¦m actually quite surprised to find out that leehom is so talented. He is highly educated, he can compose and produce his music, he can play many different instruments, he is good at painting too etc etc. realizing that he is not the usual pretty boy idols I used to associate him with, I start to take an interest in him. I went out to buy his forever first day album and I like all his songs so much. I think that his songs are very different from the many similar love ballets we find in the Chinese pop market. From that moment onward, I start to admire leehom so much. Apart from his talent, what I like most about leehom is his dedication and sincerity to his music and fans. I really admire him for making the music he likes and not juz producing for the mass market. And I remember when I went to his autographing session in Singapore last yr, I am really touch by his sincerity. He not only shake the hands (a firm handshake) of every fans attending the autographing session, he also thanks all the fans. I can sense that he really care so much for his fans and appreciate our support for him. I really think he is someone worth our support! Yah, I guessed this is all I wanted to share with all of u. I hope that all of u can participate actively in this topic too.

hey i guess you are right, it was really interesting reading about how you started to take an interest in lee hom, i first took notice in china strike force, honestly for his looks than my sis brought this cd, the love you 24 hours one and when i heard the music i was pretty suprised that this what seemed to me as another one of those 'pretty boys" ( yup i think this a common misconception about him) could actually sing some pretty interesting music that sounded really refreshing. Than cause i live in australia i went on the net which is basically the only place i can find stuff out about asian artists, and looked up some sights and was really impressed by his strong background in music, all that info really convinced me that there was some major talent in this 'pretty boy idol" hahah . when i heard the music from his forevers first day cd i was hooked, the music in his songs stood out so much cause i find in the asian music industry the music is so predictable, lee- homs music made me sit up and really want to listen . I really appreciate the fact that he is true to his own style and not accomadate for whatever new style will sell the most cds. I guess my story sounds pretty similar to the one above, I'm not lieing though !! you know lee-homs talent is really worth so many fans dedication and support and you know the looks aren't a bad thing either, sometimes you juz need a bit of eye-candy haha . well hopefully more and more people will come to appreciate lee-homs music and tell us why in this forum !!!

YO~ Well, me started liking LeeHom for quite some time. About 4years ago? It was the time when he produced the album "revolution" that i noticed him. However at that time i only noticed him and was not yet crazy about him. But the next album "Impossible to miss you" gave me a very different view! The song "Liu Lei Shou Xin"! I fall in love with that song! It was such a beautiful and romantic song. I can't simply explain it through words! I remember that time, he came to Singapore to promote his ablum. He had a mini concert at Studio East i think. (at cineleisure) That time is if you buy his album, you will have a ticket to go watch the concert. Although i did not went for the concert, i went up before the concert to "peep" at him outside the area where the concert is held. Although i did not manage to see him, i heard him sing live! He was so great! At that time, i was not completely crazy over him but i know he can sing. Then at night, when i watch YV, the PVC night. He sang Live in that Tv show! As you all might know, not all singers dare to sing live at TV shows! He sang so well that i was so impressed and then after that, i went crazy over him! Very crazy! So crazy that all my friends and teachers know that i like him! HaHa! From then on, i began to buy his every single album. Now, i owe about 5 of his cds. (not really a lot as i lack of $$) haha. From "resolution" to "impossible to miss you" to "forever first day" to "everyday love you 24hours" to the latest album "wei yi" I am so crazy that i set up a channel in Mirc. #leehom. After having that #, i began to look around for his supporters to support the #, as well as to support him. Then when he came to SG last year, the # managed to get about 10 tickets to bring the #supporters to see his "livehouse" concert! It was really a wonderful experience to see him face to face! Oops. Think i wrote too much! I hope you guys enjoy what i have written! Looking forward for you guys' stories as well!

Well. let me tell my story of how I began to idolise Lee Hom... Actually his first song that I heard is "Revolution", then, I didn't think much of him, after all, he was new to me....I didn't even know who he was and how he looked like until I encountered his then newly-released album ( revolution ) at some cd store...he looked quite cute, that type of clean-shaven-guy-next-door, at least to me... Thinking back, I was surprised that I didn't put much attention to this talented musician.... Then I heard of his album "Forever's first day", he was quite 'big' by then, wasn't he? I bought this album because of his songs "Don't be Afraid" and "Dragon's descendants". Even after that, I wasn't really keen on getting more of his info...u know what usually a girl who idolised a pop star would do...always trying to know more and stuff...but I didn't ....But then, I thought it was cool that he was from America...and came all the way to embark a singing career in the East...To cut it short, when I was on my home last year, I passed by HMV aand saw his "Wei Yi" MTV on the big TV screen...then the date which he'd be coming to do promo in Singapore....Suddenly, I was so keen on going to see him, although I was having my 'O' level exam that time....and as suddenly as it was, I began to like this "Wei Yi" song...u know what, I actually couldn't really accept this song when it was first aired on radio, I didn't even know it was sung by him ( sorry guys, i know u've got the urge to knock me on the head for being so dumb! ) then I went to a CD store and found out that they were giving away free ticket to watch him live at LIVEHOUSE!!, I bought the CD on that instant..( I was on my way home from school after having done my 'O' level Accounts paper ). I was so happy to attend that concert and discovered that he was really great...his singing ability had improved a lot, he sounded more matured...and so many fantastic facts about him and his talents...and here I am writing this to share my 'discovery'

hmmmm, for me , i started noticing leehom when his song "revolution" was quite popular then --1998. although i wasn't really crazy over him, i told myself that i MUST buy his next album i.e Impossible to miss You. i bought the CD on the very 1st day the album arrived Singapore. after listening to the album umpteen times, i went really crazy over Leehom!! his album is really very impressive(at least to mi)n i feel its one of his best albums so far!!! i admire leehom for his composing talent n his efforts and hardwork in making GOOD QUALITY music. he is confident of himself n does not let external factors affect his passion for music!! from then , i started collecting his albums, articles, pictures, i even recorded his performances or even short little interviews on tv that i know of. i m so crazy abt him that i would dream of him too! ;D while idolising leehom, i do not think that i have neglected my studies, i feel that lee hom motivates me to study. ironical??in fact, leehom is a conscientious person n he "gives his best shot " in everything he does. as he said b4 "you only live once, so give it your best shot"thinking of leehom would motivate me to do my work properly n i definitely would NOT regret in idolising leehom~!!! actually i can't understand why so many ppl are going bonkers over artistes who only has the looks but can't even sing?(no offence here, this is juz my opinion. u may not agree wif me..i know maybe some ppl think that it is onli reasonable to fantasize over someone who is handsome even though he/he can't sing/actor...but looks aren't lasting, it is the inner beauty that makes the magic)Leehom, on the other hand is not onli talented, he is also affectionate n has a heart of gold. this can be evidently seen when he donated a HUGE sum of $ (which he refused to disclose)to the taiwan earthquake few yr ago!!!!!! the first time i saw leehom in person was last year when he held his mini concert in singapore, Livehouse!he sings with feelings n i really enjoyed myself at the concert. his voice is strong n his live performance is great!!! i'm not trying to say that leehom is perfect..., well no one is perfect.i admire him for his gd points! sorry to share with you such a long account of my "discovery" of leehom.....i like leehom for his music his character not his looks (although , yes he IS gd looking) really think that i should stop here. thank for reading!! Leehom GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guessed Lee hom's break through of his music career is his album "Revolution". His First album image was just a pretty boy image... guessed what caught my attention is that he is very talented. I was waiting for him to produce an album which belongs to him... his own ideas and style..... or rather his belief in music..... well he finally did it... that's "Revolution". I only started to collect his albums after that. The main point is that he is very sincere, sincere in the sense that he makes you feel that he geniunely love music to the point that he cannot live without it. Juz like me... hahaha...Just kidding. I have never attended his live performance.... but can imagine how good he is... Lastly, I'm not really obessed in idolising Lee Hom in person...but I loved his music...pardon me for my english.... I am so used to writing in broken sentence haha... sorry !!

Seems like quite a long time since someone posted on this topic... Well, I guess like many of you, I first noticed Lee Hom at the time of the album "Revolution". Then came songs which ring a bell, like "Julia", "Impossible to Miss You", "Dragon descendants"....The song "Dragon descendants" was one which probably left a little more impression then. I remember there were meanings behind him in doing the song. And it was such a wonderful remix . But I guess my interest in him wasn't really there at that time. I was listening to loads of songs then, both classical and pop. I probably never stopped long enough to look more into who he was and his songs. Until the previous album "The One and Only" and this particular song. I came across his mtv on TV one day and this became one song that I'm so familiar with! cos' my friend's so hooked on this song! She visited many Lee Hom websites and learnt so much about him. Yeah, that's when I came up here...read his biography, profile, articles and so on, especially the diary. I guess since he took the trouble to write his songs, we owe it to him to try to understand the inspirations behind each. And I'm really thankful for those diary entries! You could say it was a late discovery on my part. But, I came to greatly admire his passion for music, the way he lives his life with music and his musical knowledge, of course! He really inspires me . But it's such a regret I had to miss growing up with his music, like how he did and many of you did . Each of his albums meant a different record of his inspirations at some point of time, and his songs were written from his own feelings...it just sort of gave each of his albums that little personal element and meaning, which I missed at each point of time he released those albums. ;D But the new compilation album "Evolution" came just in time! Thanks for reading!

Erm.... think it was in 2000 (i was only 11 then! haha) i kept hearing yong yuan..tian and bu yao hai pa on radio and the name "wang li hong" la...and then i was like 'man this guy is zai' . Forgot abt him after that until 2001 i was watching Animal Planet i saw Lee hom's ad for Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots Programme (still remember him saying "i first knew Jane Goodall in 1995..." background was greenery and leehom had this intellectual voice) and i really didnt know this guy who introduced himself as 'wang lee-hom' (or was it lee-hom wang? cant remember) is wang li hong lah. So i thot 'sigh, juz another pretty boy, but this one is an ABC mandarin singer" and then i forgot all about him. This year, on TV3 jian ke i saw him performing. he sang julia, wei yi, and played drums piano and guitar. Stunned. 'pretty boy...wang li hong? *scream* ahhh this guy is so zai'. so...thats how i knew him lar.

Wow! Think i'm a late bird! All of you start liking him around Revolution... for me it's Wei Yi. Wei Yi was the first album i bought of him though i knew he existed b4 that but din really pay much attention... yup... i thought Wei Yi was a fantastic album! it's the first and only album so far that i love EVERY single song! It's like each song is so different and unique with a character on its own. Then the thing that earned my deepest respect was when i looked at the album sleeve and went like 'Wow! This guy does ALL of his own stuff! from writing the song to playing da instru!!' so i really had this deep respect for him... moreover i learn music so i started looking up to him in terms of writing music and having a style of your own.. But it was the concert that really got me 'crazy'... haha! Thought he was real good!! So now, i have added Lee Hom to my list of fav artiste.. the No.1 spot! A bit sorry that i started recognising his music this late but then... better late than never! Cheers! ;D
