Hey, although it is a bit late, was touched by all your comments of the concert, so just wanna chip in too ;D
The concert was short, i agree..the stage was definitely restricting, somehow I think this has to do with the organizers. Why is it that every performing artiste who comes to Singapore has somewhat limited sets and props, not to mention costumes (although not in leehom's case) and perhaps more expensive tickets as compared to the same concerts by the same artistes in other countries like Hong Kong? So something to do with the organizers, haha.... They must realize that while Singaporeans are more willing to part with their money to watch a concert, we know how to compare its worthiness in terms of many things, be it visual, artistic or materials.
Or perhaps we didn't know any better. One of the reasons Rain's upcoming concert fetches up to $888 is because the stage props and crew would be flown in from the US. Does this mean that the same concert from Rain in other country would also cost somewhere around S$888? That's new to me!
Well, going to a concert or performance has never been cheap, at least in Singapore. But that is not to say that there aren't cheap and yet entertaining concerts here. Guess it has to do with "who" is performing. haha...
Anyhow, to be honest, leehom's concert this round seemed a bit 'distanced', (perhaps it's the seats I got) there wasn't real 'connection' with the audience, but there were many 'breathtaking' moments during the whole evening, like when he performed "Cinema Paradiso" on violin, it seemed like we understood him so well on a musical level.
But what's with the audience sing-a-long session?? haha...although it's nice to build rapport with the audience this way, wasn't it too much singing on our part? I mean, we'd be glad to sing with him, but it felt more like a karaoke session to me.(plus the lyrics on screen? Oh, goodness, spare us those!! we are his die-hard fans, of course we knew his songs, agree???) Haha....although not all the time we were expected to sing, luckily.
Anyone agrees with me that his last concert in 2002 was better than this time round? It gave the audience more kicks. Plus it's longer in duration, and I was sitting on the second row from stage ;D so guys, I'm telling you, next time he comes for concert, go grab the front seats!!!!
